palindromes semordnilap

Our brief was to create a playing card that illustrated a palindrome of our choice! After much deliberation it was decided:

"No Sir, away! A papaya war is on"

The illustration had to be read both ways, which presented initial difficulties which were thankfully overcome due to the invention of reflections. bless them!

This was done as an acrylic monoprint, with the aid of a sharpie.

defying gravity

After being read one of the most beautiful books I've ever laid my little peepers on; The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Alsburg, we were asked to create a missing page from the book entitled " Defying Gravity: No matter how hard he tried, his feet would not touch the ground."
Hello imagination and irrelevant nudity!

art market

This was an illustration I created for our up and coming art market which will be applied to whatever doesn't move; including bags, prints, magnets and cards! Hoopla for versatility!

let there be LIGHT (architecture)

The Mission: Create a 360 degree paper lamp based on an IKEA lamp

Materials: Paper, Paper, Paper, Paper, Glue, Cutting Impliments, not enough time and patience of steeeeeel.

Result: a safety hazard (both me and the lamp) and a whole new slightly less admirable attitude towards paper.

This was an initial sketch I did based on my neighbourhood. At this point I didn't realise what I was getting myself in for!

a sketchy beginning

In light of the news that blog is the new black, I have decided to willing embrace the ".com" suffix and whole heartedly swim in the surf that is the net. Armed with industrial strength sunscreen, pasty skin and slightly undignified floaties, I shall attempt to dabble my toes with a sketch or two...

These are some caricatures I did in coloured pencil of some of the colourful characters I went travelling with! (sorry Michael and Dennis)
